TDWI: State of Data Quality

Organizations see assurance of high data quality as a key pillar of success by enabling better data-driven decisions and more effective utilization of trusted data to drive business results.

However, when TDWI surveyed 143 organizations this year, some of the results were concerning. While the majority of enterprises generally have data quality metrics in place, only about one-quarter of these respondents reported consistently measuring these metrics and communicating them.

Even more concerning, only 17% of organizations have a formal process for measuring and reporting on data quality metrics, only 14% have implemented tools for automating their data quality management processes and only 11% say they have enabled the end-to-end observability of the health and quality of their data pipelines.
