erwin on Enterprise Architecture - The Role of Business Process Modeling

What do they use as the term to describe doing process modeling? Is it business architecture or enterprise architecture or operational process modeling? Is there a certain term that you use to describe that, because some of the confusion we're finding, certainly, when we talk to customers and to the market is they're overloaded. Some people don't want to use enterprise architecture. Some people do. Some people have their own terminology for things. How is it at Fidelity? It's a lot about continuous improvement. OK. Continuous improvement. They use a lot of these things. Continuous improvement. It's about always challenging the status quo of how the process is. When you mean challenging the status quo you mean you bring people, like business process improvement, as well. Business process planning and improvement. Absolutely. They have a team. We're looking at improving process and, again, this team is touching upon AI as well, artificial intelligence. They work together hand in hand and I think do-- the most common language is more like process improvement, continuous improvement. They don't use process improvement, use rather business continuity or business-- It's more about what you're trying to achieve is now-- Absolutely. As an outcome rather than just-- [INTERPOSING VOICES] --gets more thinking. Exactly. OK. How do you balance this portfolio for AI, VPN, all those things together to improve the business? Yeah, and that fits quite well into what we've been doing as well. One of the things we've done with our product portfolio is changed the term EA, so it's no longer case-wise or erwin EA. It's erwin Evolve, going forward, because, again, that fits into this transformation. Absolutely. Continually. Yeah, continual change. Evolution. Yes. Yeah, and it suits better when we start to talk to some of the people in the business about what is erwin EA versus erwin Evolve. Erwin Evolve sounds much better and it satisfies a whole range of use cases. Absolutely. Absolutely. You can put more things in it-- Yeah. --because the title alone cover. Absolutely. That's got smarts.
